If you’re seeking a convenient and practical means of living healthier, consider doing so through supporting a food company which abides by greener principles, Whole Foods Market.

Whole Foods recently won the 2009 Green Choice Award for their dedication to substantial, earth-friendly initiatives which inspire other companies to follow suit. In living up to their mission, the company donates 1% of all retail sales to the Whole Planet Foundation, empowering entrepreneurs in developing countries by providing micro credit and operational support.

So there you are. Feed yourself and family something delicious and indirectly contribute to a better world. Awesome.

Some excellent observations here. Also, with a culture like that it's no wonder why Whole Foods jobs are in such demand among relatively well educated and affluent individuals, whereas the same type of people probably would never think of putting on a Safeway uniform, even if times were desperate!
