Changing Our World Announces Summer Social Enterprise Fellowship

Heads up all graduate students, if you’re looking to get a jump start on changing the world, try a 3 month internship with Changing Our World, a progressive philanthropy and fundraising cultural firm based in New York, New York. Changing Our World is now accepting applications for their summer Social Enterprise Fellowship until March 1st, 2010. Graduate students studying business, international studies, public policy, social sciences, and other related fields are all encouraged to apply. During your 3 month, $6,000 internship, you will learn how to provide expertise and individualized solutions, help non-profits create strong relationships with donors and enable grant makers and corporations to invest their resources wisely. You will have the opportunity to gain insight into fundraising, corporate social engagement, private philanthropy, planning and evaluation, interactive services, and planned services – all aspects of the well-founded Changing Our World firm.

Social enterprise is a growing and exciting movement and the space for your individual creativity to blossom is limitless. Some of the objectives Changing Our World hopes to achieve with the assistance of its fellows include:

-    Clarification on the definitions and range of practices taking place in this space, as well as an inventory of proven strategies and models

-    An understanding of trends in the field, including size and growth of the market, size of organizations, sectors of focus, geography, and key players (both social enterprise leaders as well as organizations that support them)-    Knowledge of how the recession has affected the field

-    An understanding of how Changing Our World can best serve social enterprise needs

-    A plan of action for the next 1 to 3 years
