Grameen Foundation Appoints Three New Positions

The Grameen Foundation is expanding its reach to cure poverty through Microfinance in international development areas. They announced three new positions today within their Partner Services and Program Regions division.

Grameen Foundation follows the philosophy of Muhammad Yunus, helping micro finance institutions (MFI’s) to develop strategies for sustaining a loyal workforce and track the decreasing poverty level of its clients. Their mission is to enable the poor (mainly women and children) and eliminate global poverty.

Peter Bladin is now Executive Vice-President, Programs and Regions. Peter was the founding Director of the Grameen Technology Center. He also was an original member of the MTN-Village Phone board, the first collaboration to offer telecommunications to the rural poor. Peter continues to be involved with other selected non-profit organizations.

Jennifer Meehan has been with Grameen Foundation since 2005, she now has the title of Regional CEO for Asia. She was the founding Director of the Capital Markets Group, and managed the Growth Guarantees product. Jennifer has more than 14 years in the microfinance industry and worked extensively with micro finance institutions throughout Asia. Jennifer holds a B.A. in International Affairs from George Washington University.

Camilla Nestor, Vice President of Microfinance Programs also joined Grameen Foundation in 2005; she has a background in banking in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She also has experience in Southeast Asia and the Balkans. Camilla speaks Bahasa Indonesia and French and she holds an MBA and a masters degree in International Affairs from Columbia University, along with an undergraduate degree in Political Science and International Relations from Colorado College.
