Customers are showing a growing preference for eco-friendly motor oils and transmission fluids. Universal Lubricants’ Eco Ultra line of petro products are not only finding better sales but also helping improve customer satisfaction levels. The company realized that preference for green motor oils is not a passing fad as retailers and auto dealers across the country increasingly reported to it that its line of sustainable products is increasingly favored by customers.
Universal Lubricants makes Eco Ultra products form re-refined base oil that is purified and then mixed with additives that preserve vehicles as well as the environment. The company follows a closed loop production process that turns what had been a non-renewable resource – used motor oil – into a renewable one.
Eric Getchell, co-owner of an auto repair facility in Aloha, Oregon reports that his customers are proud of the “environmental stewardship” that goes with using Eco Ultra and recycling used motor oil. For environmentally conscious consumers, Eco Ultra has emerged as the new poster boy for environmental stewardship.
The re-refining process that is used to produce Eco Ultra makes nearly 90 percent lesser use of energy compared to refining from virgin crude. Re-refined base oil based products release about 65 percent fewer harmful emissions into the environment. As the used oil is reclaimed, it eliminates the chances of ground water pollution that could result from improper disposal. One gallon of improperly disposed motor oil is enough to contaminate one million gallons of ground water.
The high-tech closed loop system that Universal Lubricants has adopted allows the used oil to be re-refined indefinitely. This makes the product not only better for the environment, but also reduces the overall oil extraction needs. Eco Ultra is licensed by the American Petroleum Institute and meets or exceeds SAE requirements and OEM specifications.
