Its always good to discover ideas like you share for blog posting. Because We simply began posting comments for weblog and facing issue associated with lots of rejections. We think your own suggestion would be useful for me personally. We will let you in it's perform for me personally too.

Hippies, I tell ya. The modern world wouldn't exist with out chemicals that allow us to produce the amount of food demanded throughout the globe. I'd much rather have perfectly safe corn grown in a field with pesticides than a diseased ear of corn that costs twice as much. That is why the vast, vast, vast, majority of farmers use these improvements. Its like plowing with a tractor vs a mule.

I've seen some of your other post around myspace Justine, and they all make me laugh. Liberal people like you assume you are the top tier of society and owe it to the world to share your ideals. Well I'm sure you support windmills, socialized healthcare and other highly subsidezed programs that you assume are funded through thin air. But hey whats wrong with changing what made America great. Lets just give more and more people reasons to feed off others.

Well there might be a few things you should know. Maybe about how the earth has been warming at roughly the same rate since the late 1600s (when we started exiting the last "little ice age"). You and I now sit in the Twin Cities which was once located under several hundred feet of ice. But I'm sure 30 second clips of polar bears on CNN have conviced you. Or possibly reports from United Nation organizations tasked with finding a problem, whos findings were compiled by people that have nothing to do with science and have been sued to remove the names of the real scientists who have contributed to the data, although they may be in a minority.

I don't wanna put words in your mouth but if you wern't in favor of the massiah, obama's socialization of the country then I owe you a coke. Everyone thinks there is no downside to supplying people in need with healthcare. Well do ya know what the largest federal expenditure is for the federal government; national defense? roads, infrastructure, and schools- none of which are even close. It is the last major entitlement that is breaking the country, social security. Over a third of all tax dollars.

I'm sorry for the aimless rant. I just get so angry at people that throw around the word GREEN all day. I just want to grab it out of the air and beat the crap out of them with it.

If you'd love to make me sound stupid I would welcome it. Please let me know what your real views are.

Great post Justine!

I just watched the film a few hours ago and must say it was quite eye opening. It's rather disgusting how manipulative large multinationals control what we consume because of political lobbying and pure greed. Furthermore, I couldn't believe the stats on how genetically engineered almost everything is!

But there was a glimmer of hope; and that hope lies in US, you and I. After all, these food giants can lobby and monopolize all they want but at the end of the day if we as consumers weren't demanding larger, cheaper and overly processed foods, they would essentially be bankrupt. So then the question becomes, what are we doing on a daily basis to make choices which counter GMOs? Are we stopping by a Farmer's market now and then or settling for cheaper alternatives? Have we ever planted a garden? Do we read labels? Etc. Good stuff and definitely goals for all of us to continue striving towards, including me:)

After just getting home from FOOD, Inc., (in which there was a large portion of the film focusing on E. coli poisoning), I read in my local headlines that Nestle is recalling 300,000 cases of cookie dough. In the last month 66 people have been infected with E. coli and 6 are Minnesota children. The coincidences don't stop there; Amy Klobuchar (our only Minnesota Senator) introduced legislation just Wednesday, to promote faster response to these foodborne illnesses. Read more about it here,

And go see FOOD, Inc.! I was shocked at some things I didn't know about what I eat! We have the power to change things, let’s use it!

Great post! I just had a long conversation with a friend about this subject. She was a vegetarian for all of these reasons. We touched on a couple of books that I think I'll highlight in the book club next week.
