The Minnesota Cup is a statewide competition that seeks the states most innovative entrepreneurs.  The competition is entering its fifth year, and has developed categories for each entry, on which is Social Entrepreneur.   Below is an excerpt from the Minnesota Cup website.

“As the Minnesota Cup matures, it continues to grow and evolve. This year, we are featuring over $100,000 in cash prizes and featuring 6 divisions. These divisions will each have a unique focus, review board and prize winner. The divisions will have a $20,000 prize (except the student division which is $5,000) and an chance to compete for the Minnesota Cup $10,000 Grand Prize.

We are pleased to announce our partnership with Social Ventures Partners and the Social Entrepreneurs division in this years competition. The Social Entrepreneurs division will seek out, support, celebrate, and promote Minnesota’s most innovative and effective social entrepreneurs and the organizations they lead.

After the initial entry period, five entrepreneurs will move on and competing for cash awards, and other great prizes. The winning social entrepreneur entry will advance to compete against 5 other division winners for the Minnesota Cup grand prize in September at the University of Minnesota.”
