#NedSoc Social Entrepreneurship Unconference Looks to Go Beyond Social Media

NedSpace Social Entrepreneurship Unconference

I constantly fantasize about living in Portland, Oregon. It’s the homeland of the great Chuck Palahniuk, one of the largest urban wildernesses in Forest Park, and a hotbed for social entrepreneurs and creative do-gooders. Oddly enough I haven’t even visited the city yet. So when I heard Ned.com and NedSpace were hosting a Social Entrepreneurship Unconference I knew I had to find a way to attend.

Ned.com has nothing but big ideas fluctuating throughout the many threads and posts on the site and I expect the same will come of the Unconference Social Entrepreneurship Roundtable. The theme is Beyond Social Media — Collaborating & Getting Things Done. Ned.com Co-Founder Mark Grimes advises those attending to, “come prepared to think big, partner up, and lay the groundwork for concrete social action plans that will get some important things done on issues you care about, in collaboration with others working in your field.”

There are already many notable changemakers, social entrepreneurs and organizational activists attending, including Ashoka Fellow Christina Jordan from Internet4Change, CEO of the Green Pants Projects Aubrie Campbell, Dan Cohen of Collective Good, Howard Silverman from People & Place and SocialEarth’s own Amy Carol Wolff (and myself of course).

So without further ado, here’s the essentials:
