To continue increasing awareness of Adopt a Village in Laos, I decided to transform my ‘To Laos with Love’ presentation into a series of presentations, which I have called, ‘To Laos with Love: Presentation Series’. Running throughout the summer on the patio of Java Jive, a small neighbourhood cafe close to where I live, these hour-long multimedia events educate the general public not only about the work of Adopt a Village in Laos, but also about Laos itself (including the bombing legacy).
This cafe has been instrumental in helping me raise awareness for Laos and the hill tribes. It was also a proud supporter of my Loonies for Laos project, which ran from mid-December 2010 until the end of April 2011. During the course of this project, enough money was raised for four water purification filters, each of which will ultimately be donated to a hill tribe family.
