Womanity Foundation to Organize a Twitter based Online Summit on International Women’s Day 2013

Womanity Foundation is holding a Twitter-based virtual summit on International Women’s Day, 8 March 2013, launching #WomenChangeMakers discussion forum.

The Womanity Foundation will mark International Women’s Day on 8 March 2013 by hosting a global Twitter-based virtual summit titled “Celebrating #WomenChangeMakers”, on #SocEntSummit, featuring expert contributions on how women drive innovation and progress in their societies. The forum will showcase pioneer work of social entrepreneurs who promote women’s empowerment, as well as inputs from business professionals, academics and leaders of social institutions who support and study their work.

Sessions will address topics such as “stories of women as leaders of change”; “men’s role in women’s empowerment”; “overcoming the obstacles to girls’education”; “the benefits of economic inclusion of women”; “women and technology – from access to action”.

The Twitter summit will launch #WomenChangeMakers as a Twitter-based forum of exchange for social entrepreneurs working on women’s issues around the world. The Womanity Foundation (twitter handle @WomanityFndtn), will host and animate the forum.

  3. In the box marked “enter hashtag to follow,” type #SocEntSummit.
  4. Click “Go” and join the conversation!

Hashtags are Twitter’s way to set apart keywords, messages, or topics in any given conversation. Once you’re following the #SocEntSummit hashtag, you will be able to see every tweet from the event, even if you’re not yet following any users on Twitter.
