The WSYA is an annual award and a network for young people under 30 years of age, using the internet and mobile phones to put the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) into action. The MDGs were set in 2000 by the UN to prompt member states and civil society to fight poverty, hunger and disease, inequalities, lack of education and environmental degradation. You can still submit your product to this international competition in one of the six categories:

1.       Fight Poverty, Hunger and Disease!
2.       Education for All!
3.       Power 2 Women!
4.       Create your Culture!
5.       Go Green!
6.       Pursue Truth!

Inspire and empower each other at the the Winners‘ Event in Austria: The three winners in each category will be invited to the World Summit Youth Award Festival in Graz, November 10-13, 2011. This is your chance to boost your project by getting access to the international Youth Award network! It offers you the possibility to develop your project, refine your business plan and find sponsors. You will present your project on a world stage at the big Award Ceremony and meet representatives of governments, NGOs, media and experts in the field of ICT for Development. Meetings, discussion panels and workshops will provide a lot of space to exchange ideas and make friends with engaged youth from all continents.

Apply until July 31st at www.youthaward.org and become part of an international community taking action on the MDGs!

I see you in Graz!
